Music ministers invite the faithful into prayer together through music, both sung and instrumental. Worship at St. John’s and on Creighton’s campus includes many styles from the vast musical tradition of the Church. If you sing and/or play an instrument, we welcome you! Music Ministry FAQ’s

Q: Can I switch ensembles once I join one?
A: Usually. It is easy to switch between the parish community ensembles, or switch into them from a student-only ensemble, based on your schedule. For the student-only ensembles, switching can be done between semesters depending on the spots available for different voice parts and instruments within the groups that year. Just ask!

Q: Where are rehearsals?
A: It depends on the ensemble. Rehearsals generally take place in the same building as the liturgy or service the ensemble serves.

Q: What if I’m not Catholic?
A:
We welcome you! While most of our ensembles serve Catholic worship, being Catholic is not a requirement for ensemble members. If you are looking for an ensemble on campus that serves worship outside of Catholic tradition, click the “Ecumenical Prayer Ensembles” above to explore those options.
